Hello guys. Ok I replaced blend doors because I was getting no heat from vents. So replaced the doors and I still have no heat. If I manually turn the doors all is well but the next time I park then start again the doors go back to a/c. I removed the accuator and somehow the doors still turn? Any ideas of my issue. Thanks
One or more of your motors operating the blend doors is/are probably shot. If you crack open one of them gently and check the plastic gears teeth inside, you will find the some of them are melted/broken, hence the rotation is not stopping at a specified point.
You can have access to both side ones if you have a dual zone system, you can remove the panel on the left side of the driver and the glove box and access them through there (one of them is a bit tight though). But if the back side motor is damaged, then I am afraid you will have to remove the entire dash again.
I figured I had two motors.. I completely removed one and the doors still turned.. the other one seems to be on the other side of the box all I can see of it is the white plastic piece
The AZC system has four electrical actuators, two blend door actuators, one mode door actuator and one recycle door actuator.
The drivers side blend door actuator sits behind the glove box, but the passengers side actuator is mounted on the front side of the HVAC box.
Did you do the calibration of the actuators after the change? See here: Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ - Climate controls
