Blend Doors

So I have been having problems with the a/c on my 2003 Grand Cherokee Laredo. All the pressures seem to check out fine with the exception of being a little under charged.

So now my sights are on the recirculation door because I have very little air coming out of the vents and also the blend doors because I have been having yellow foam particles coming out of the vents.

I have found two separate companies that offer repair kits: Blen Dor Store and HeaterTreater. Has anyone used their products and what has been your success from them.

Also has anyone had to replace these "doors" on their Laredo?

Thanks for any tips!

Re: Blend Doors

Blend doors usually aren't an issue on Laredo's unless you have the optional dual zone climate control.

Oh the dreaded blend door syndrome. Yes I have the same problem with mine. Cold air comes out the passenger side when heat is on. I have the dual climate control. This means that the blend door for the right side is broken. Jeep garage wants $1300.00 to repair. I told them they need to take a trip to the Gulf of Aden. He looked at me like where the hell is that. Back to the blend doors. Their are several web sites that sale the kit. I ordered mine from JGCPatrs.com. Yes the doors where the most expensive. $150.00. How ever they are machined from aluminum and not the cheap ass plastic (as to why they broke in the first place). If you go that rout do not use there method of repair. They use Presidential procedure, lazy mans way to fix. You will be sorry if you mess it up. If you go to youtube, type in wj blend door repair. they have several ways of fixing. In my case I have to completely remove the dash. Haven't done it yet, but will let you know how it goes and other modifications I do. Will have pictures.
