Blend doors fitted-problem still there !

Ive always had a small problem with my dual zone heater. When Ive selected cool for both sides, sometimes the passenger side will start to blow hot. Up untill now Ive just turned the passenger side tempreture controller up and down several times and it sorts itself out.
Checked the fault codes and I had the usual suspects of failed blender doors.
So I fitted my heater-treater doors on saturday. Nice easy job. Only my original doors were in perfect condition and seemed to function ok.
But when youve gone and bought the kit and cut it open you might as well just fit it and know it wil never need looking at in the future !!!

The original fault seems to have resurfaced. Im planning on doing a full AZC reset by pulling out the fuse to see if that helps.
Otherwise what could it be, a faulty cabin tempreture sensor on the passenger side ?
Any ideas guys ?

Thanks

Re: Blend doors fitted-problem still there !

When you turn the temp control knob, do you hear the actuator running smoothly? The problem could be with the temp control potentiometer itself. Maybe some contact cleaner could help. The temperature sensors are in fact 1 unit with 2 infrared sensors, one pointing to the drivers side and the other to the passengers side. It could be faulty, but wouldnīt expect a fault in here to be cleared when turning the temp knob.
The repair you did, didnīt it revert the system to a single zone control?

Re: Blend doors fitted-problem still there !

In not hearing any strange noises from the doors moving and they seemed smooth enough when I checked (old ones + the new ones)
Ive retained the dual zone control (although I could convert this to single zone if I wanted)
The tempreture control potentiometer, now theres something I could check out. Does that little fascia pop out the dash easy enough ?

See for calibrating the AZC system the following link: Jeep Grand Cherokee WK - Climate controls
And here for the removal of the AZC control panel:
Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ - lamps and lighting - bulb removal

Just seeing now that the first link states WK, but it opens the WJ section.

Yeah, you will need to recalibrate the system after the repair. I looked into it recently.
