Re: brake honk question

kinda sounds like the brake pads are worn all the way down and just the metal eating away at the rotor... possibly changing them? happend to me with my 95 accord my rotors were almost as thin as a nickle.

No its not that as i stated i just changed the pads out and the old ones where still at half life. the noise is coming from around the brake pedal if you press it a lil harder than normial it will honk lol kinda hear a air sound while it makes the honk. almost like air brakes on a big rig.

any one know what i am talking about it happens while sitting still in park

Re: brake honk question

Maybe grease up the sliders or whatever on the calipers? There is rubber surrounding some parts and maybe the air your hearing and the honk is that? Dunno bro...worth a shot tho...

Re: brake honk question

Did you hit a duck and it's hanging from the brake booster. Then it gets choked every time you press the brakes hard??

OKay, a real reply now. I have noticed my WJ has started to squeak when I press the brakes. I know mine is from the petal itself. I just need to grease it. I would try climbing under there and checking out the linkage, and maybe having someone hit them hard with you listening to see where exactly it's coming from.

Re: brake honk question

It's your brake booster leaking.
check the hoses first, if nothing off you'll need to get a 2nd hand booster from a part recycler.

Re: brake honk question

i think you got it ben! I also noticed my pedal seems to go a lil too far down. i will check all hoses tonight to make sure everything is good. maybe that is the problem for why my rpms raise to 2k upon starting and it idles a bit high and then idles low when coming to a stop light. already replaced tps and IAC so not them. cleaned everything in there too. soon as weather gets better and i get this DAM Kiddney stone out i will be working on her a lot. so question how hard you guys think its gunna be to replace the booster if it is bad? looks kinda tight but i aint scared! thanks again for the replys.

and DUCKS if thats your cuz that i found im holding you 110% reliable for the problems it has caused to my beloved WJ since your the only ken that has came forward! LMFAO
