Re: Can't get my wj outta 4lo?

ok i just saw frango mentioned it but no harm in mentioning it again

also for what its worth most vehicles can be made to make that clunking sound by doing what you described. at youre age i imagine the number of miles and vehicles driven is limited. do what frango suggested if you dont see anything dont go nuts over it its somewhat normal if you hve any friends with rearwheel drive cars ask them to do the same thing see if theirs do it also

if they dont know if their car is rear wheel, sideways motor= front wheel drive, also lack of a drive shaft and differential(pumpkin) in the rear

Re: Can't get my wj outta 4lo?

Haven't put it in neutral yet, but I got the cowl cover off and I took a video. Sorry the sound is low, the mic on my iPhone is shot. Thanks.

The fact that the linkages are attached and not broken/bent rules them out. I couldn't hear so did it make any noises ?

Re: Can't get my wj outta 4lo?

I can hear you saying something, but thats the only sound audible. I see the linkage moving, but is it making any noise? Sofar all is pointing towards the wiper motor/gearbox assy.

Yes, its making a ticking noise. To hear it better, put some headphones on and turn it all the way up.

Amen to that, I've learned my lesson! Unfortunately also bent the drivers side PIAA wiper blade that same day...seeing if I can't get it replaced by PIAA, even as it was my fault...stupid of me.

Will go under the car tomorrow to address the other issue, but anyways thanks everyone for the help, don't know what I'd do without it.

Haven't worked on the clunk yet, it's been very cold outside.

Received delivery of this today, can't beat like $10.

Works AWESOME! No more guessing.

Tried to find a wiper motor at various junk yards, but they all insisted on pulling the part for me, and charging $75. So I headed over to eBay, and picked one up for $30. Got here today, and even though it was listed as a wiper motor(as that was all I needed, I think...), it came with the linkage too! Looks like I'll have a back up wiper linkage now, guess that's not a bad thing.

Question-even with all tires, are you supposed to follow the mfr rated tire pressure on the door?

That is a big can of worms you opened...I go with tire manufacturers recommendations as that sticker applied to the tires that came on it from the factory...many of which you can't even buy anymore.
