Re: Clicking/Knocking Problem on 04' WJ I6

well i dont know if i would use trans flued as it has a detergent in it to clean thus causing the lower bearings to slip i have seen this in the past not with any jeep but on other Chevy and fords i have been doing some research on my 93 and i have found that the knocking it a collapse lifter not the cam thus being a relatively easy fix the only down fall is that i just replaces the valve cover gasket last spring but o well and i am not in any real rush as the truck runs great and it dose not seem to make a difference in power

Re: Clicking/Knocking Problem on 04' WJ I6

That's what I thought also. I'm getting rid of the Jeep soon so I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks though!

Re: Clicking/Knocking Problem on 04' WJ I6

Well if it's only that much I think I should take care of it. I know where Tysons Jeep is. What should I say to them if I go to get it fixed?

First one on the page. It's common, don't worry if you have it checked and they say just ride it till it dies...

Re: Clicking/Knocking Problem on 04' WJ I6

could be piston slap or a lifter tick, maybe a broken pushrod? try some heavy lucas additave in ur next oil change, my friend sank his 4.0 blew the motor and i pulled gallons of water and oil mix out and with lucas in the new oil you can barely hear the deadly motor knock and he drives it daily (kinda dumb i know but it just proves you cant kill a 4.0)
