Re: Clicking/Knocking Problem on 04' WJ I6

I'm not going to get it done. I'm getting a new Jeep soon so there is no need to fix it.

I have the same thing on my 4.7L. Came to find out the exhaust manifold bolt broke. A LOT of wj that I have seen do that too.

Re: Clicking/Knocking Problem on 04' WJ I6

sounds like lifters to me, i had a truck that did the same thing....i was told a old trick to clean them up... take and drain all the oil and take and get kerosen or no.2 diesel and fill your moter up with it and take out your ecm fuse so it doesnt fire and crank your engine over for alittle bit, then drain it, then fill it up with cheap oil then run it for about 10 min and drain the oil, and fill it up with good oil. i know it sounds crazy but i've used this trick twice and it worked...good luck
