Question clunk from tranny when i go into drive or reverse i have several codes pop up P1732,

clunk from tranny when i go into drive or reverse
i have several codes pop up P1732, P1733, P1734, P1768, P1781... Bought solenoid assembly and had it replaced. but my jeep is still hard shifting into drive and reverse, drives okay otherwise. and my engine light is still on... What is causing this? I was told that i also have a bad motor mount and need that replaced. but still can't figure it out why it is doing this. when my solenoid assembly was replaced all fluid looked great and no burnt smell or dark in color,, bright red. can someone please tell me what they think this might be!!!! the codes were told to me that it was solenoid pack and tcmodule. it is a 45rfe tranny.

Re: clunk from tranny when i go into drive or reverse i have several codes pop up P17

The P1732, 1733 and 1734 are pressure switches inside the TRS solenoid block. That one is replaced, so the switches should be ok. These codes mean that the pressure switch signal is not in line with the current gear position. I would start looking at the cable loom to see if its not shaving against some metal part or against an exhaust pipe somewhere. This loom runs on the left side and connects on the solenoid assy. This loom runs behind the engine and is quite hard to see well.
Could be a problem with the TCM (Transmission Control Module) as well. Some people who had strange codes did a flash of the TCM and solved their problem.
You could also look for a garage which has a DRBIII scanner. With this scanner they can see realtime a lot of information coming from the TCM, which maybe better could point into the right direction of the problem without having to change all kind of parts.
By the way, does it shift completely normal, or does it stay in one gear only (limp mode). The P1768 means that the transmission relay is off. If this happens, then the transmission will be in limp mode and won´t shift gears, it stays in 3rd gear.

Re: clunk from tranny when i go into drive or reverse i have several codes pop up P17

thanks so much for your answer..... it feels like it shifts okay but a friend told me it is staying in 3rd gear like you said. i have to wait till next week to get the tranny control module. then i check that out. hopefully i am not doing worse damage by driving it back and forth to work everyday. keeping my fingers crossed....

Re: clunk from tranny when i go into drive or reverse i have several codes pop up P17

So the tranny is in limp mode and will stay in 3rd gear all the time. You could only manually go to 1st or second with the gear lever (when necessary), but also the torque converter clutch will not engage, so you get more heat buildup in the tranny. The limp mode is in fact there to bring you home and not to continue driving around. For short distances it should not hurt, but don't go driving on the highway. You most probably didn't do so, otherwise you would have seen and/or heard that the engine rpm (and noise) is quite some higher then normal.
When you drive away now with the gear lever in D, the tranny is already in 3rd gear and the torque converter is doing its utmost best to transfer the engine torque to the tranny. This causes a lot of heat buildup and can cause rapid fluid degradation and extra mechanical stress on the tranny. So if really necessary to continue driving, do not accelerate rapidly.
By the way, was fuse 5 (30A) in the Power Distribution Center under the hood checked? And also the Transmission Control Relay (TCR), which is inside the same center? You could swap this relay with the Auto Shutdown Relay (ASD), which is inside this center as well. When the TCR is bad, and you put it in the place of the ASD, the engine will not start anymore and you need to buy a new relay.
