Control arm bushings

I have to change the front upper control arm bushings in the axle lugs and i saw brands like Crown and Omix Ada (Quadratec). On an other site they where complaining about the quality of the Crown bushings, seems that they wear very quickly. (they are also quite cheap, around 10 USD.)
Anybody overhere good or bad experiences with any brand bushings?

Re: Control arm bushings

How did you know they were bad? Did you hear alot of clunking in the front end? I have 91,000 on my WJ and I and trying to locate the source of a front end clunk going over rough roads and bumps.

Re: Control arm bushings

No, there was no clunking at all. I just discovered it when i was changing the diff fluid. The rubber was just worn away and the center metal tube which normally is suspended by the rubber (and where the mounting bolt goes through) was completely loose. This was only at the upper right hand control arm bushing which is mounted in the front axle lug. All the others are ok.

Re: Control arm bushings

Don't know but have you done a search on "worn control arm bushings"? I too would be interested in what is recommended most. Energy Suspension? They are great with things like sway bar bushings-would think they be great with this too...
