Coolant Leak

I'm a hobbyist and far from a pro! So I hoped someone could shed some light. I have a 01 WJ with 80k and have coolant leaking. Seems to be right below the passenger floorboard/firewall area. I suspect heater core because I've smelled it inside cabin and slight window fog. I thought floorboard should be wet if it were core. Could heater core be leaking to the OUTside? The leak is small, as we have a dog I do not want any antifreeze lying around.

Re: Coolant Leak

Did you check under the floor covering for wet spots? Most of the time its the heater core. The whole dash must be removed to change it.

Re: Coolant Leak

I felt the carpet but did not pull it up. I will check more closely. Not looking forward to pulling the dash apart but it looks like there are some excellent writeups here.
