Crank position sensor recall

I just had my 04 WJ 4.0L CPS replaced under recall. When I got it back it was fine but next morning it started and sounded like a thrashing machine. I looked at the CPS and they did replace it so I gently moved the connector, which is on the opposite side of the engine and the sound went away. The truck ran ok for a few days and then the sound came back. Moving the wire harness seems to make the sound go away. How can moving the wiring harness that goes along the back of the engine make the sound change? The WJ runs fine. I have an appointment with the dealer next week but don't feel confident.

Re: Crank position sensor recall

I brought the WJ back and the dealer apologized for not tightening up the cable clamp from the crank shaft position sensor. If you have this " thrashing machine" sound that is remedied by moving the crank sensor cable, it is the cable clamp, an easy fix.
