It is a pretty simple job that requires basic hand tools and shouldn't take very long. The sensor itself is located on the throttle body. Refer to the link below for its exact location.

I've noticed that when the dash cuts out, my voltage meter drops down from its normal position (around 14) to down around 12ish and then comes back up to 14. It then repeats for the next few minutes then disappears.

Updates regarding engine issue :

I turn the key once to activate the gauges and everything, the voltage meter moves to around 12 and then on a normal start, once it cranks over and idles the needle moves towards its normal position. When it decides to die, needle never moves from 12.

If I sit there and just crank it then let it die. After about 10/15 times it will start normal with no issues. I've been trying to get a video of both when it happens but no luck so far.

Also, I was sitting at a red light yesterday and Jeep just died. Could this be a fuel filter issue possibly?
I would say that if voltage drops from 14 to 12 when things cut out the alternator is going bad. The alternator should put out around 14 volts with the engine running, and if it cuts out the voltage would drop to whatever the battery voltage is, which should be 12v.

I'd start with having it tested and go from there. If you hare having electrical problems that could be causing the other malfunctions. After you get that figured out if you are still having other problems I would look at the IAC.

Re: Current Issues:

Most auto parts stores should be able to check the alternator as well as the battery. Also, there are no Mass Air Flow sensors on WJ's that I know of.

Re: Current Issues:

Update.

Took it to the local autostore to get the battery and alternator tested but couldn't get the nut off the terminal screw so I said I'll go home and get it off and just bring the battery back. Was working on taking the Neg Terminal nut off when it decided to break...in half.

Finally got the terminal off to discover this!

So took the battery in and got a new one. Still haven't got the alternator tested yet. I'm trying to find sometime this weekend to get at it but so far, either issue hasn't reappeared yet.

Re: Current Issues:

I bet you just solved your problem...hopefully. Effed up batteries can cause all kinds of weird gremlins. I got some battery terminal spray a while back and now after I clean the ends, I spray it with this stuff and include the screw. I have had no corrosion since on any battery I've worked on. It's cheap and you just spray it on...it's red and tacky. Anytime I've had to remove connections, they come right off, nice and easy.

Re: Current Issues:

Exactly what Tony said, battery terminal spray is worth its weight in gold to keep the terminals clean and free of corrosion. Every time I degrease the engine bay they get resprayed.

Re: Current Issues:

I'm gonna go get some this weekend. I don't wanna have to deal with this all over again. lol.

Hopefully this is the solution. My voltmeter is running just under the 14 mark.

Right around 14V is perfect with the engine running.

That sucks dude...is it from the pump itself or one of the lines? You might want to check in with 01 Grand...I'm not 100% sure but I think he got into a wrestling match with a PS leak not too long ago on his rig.

Re: Current Issues:

It's coming from the pump I believe. I'll take a pic later when I get to the Jeep. I just caught it so I filled up the reservoir and am not tracking it to see how fast the leak is.

Re: Current Issues:

it can be hard to tell sometimes...because a lot is above the pump and can run down along it making it look like it's coming from the pump itself. I've had to hunt down PITA leaks before...best thing is always to degrease everything really well and monitor regularly.
