Death Wobble

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 6 inch lift and it has started doing the "Death Wobble". It doesn't do it all the time, just when I hit a bump or something that jars it pretty good...any ideas of how I can stop this and how I can prevent it in the future?

Re: Death Wobble

A good steering damper will help, but you will need to check all the front suspension bushings, steering rod ends and ball joints for play..

Ok thanks...also my front end is making like a vibrating roaring noise when I turn, but once again it's not all the time it's just every now and then...any idea on that?

I would start by check CV joints on the front axles and CV joint(s) on the front drive shaft.

Like Frango said, a good stabilizer helps with the death wobble, but the real cause is worn or misaligned front end parts.

Rancho makes a pretty good aftermarket one.......... but depending on who installed your lift, I'd start there.
