Could be a problem with the overdrive clutch. Or a worn clutch or a leak in the hydraulic circuit. You could test the hydraulic circuit using compressed air. For this test the valve body needs to be removed again.

Re: Did shift solenoid & Transgo hd2 kit, flash or dont have to?

Im on my mobile now, but later today i can send you a page from the service manual which shows which holes go to what clutch. When you do the air test, use 20-30 PSI. You will hear a damp sound from the clutch piston moving and there will be some air leak. Each clutch piston has two small bleed off orifices which cause this normal leak, but when an oil mist appears and no piston movement heard/felt, there is probably a leak.
Also possible is a too low line pressure. The pressure regulator solenoid is part of the solenoid block, so should not be the problem, but the line pressure sensor could be faulty or even the oil pump. (Not the pump itself, but more the pressure regulators val e in the pump housing).
You could see if the line pressure sensor is faulty by doing the following: remove the connector from the line pressure sensor. The TCM looses the pressure feedback signal and will put the pressure regulating solenoid in a fixed high pressure position. If the transmission works ok without slipping then the sensor is faulty.

Re: Did shift solenoid & Transgo hd2 kit, flash or dont have to?

Line pressure indication comes from the line pressure sensor. But also this pressure signal is used by the TCM as a feedback. When the sensor is bad, it could indicate a pressure which is not there. Remove the connector from the line pressure sensor and testdrive.
If the pump was the problem then you would have problems with the line pressure as well, since the fluid comes from one pump.

Does anyone on here have a write up for tranny removal and reinstall?

Did you try driving with line pressure sensor removed?

Re: Did shift solenoid & Transgo hd2 kit, flash or dont have to?

I did a write-up on removal of the 5-45RFE, will see if i can find it again.
When your jeep was hooked up to the scanner, did you also see the CVI's (clutch volume indexes)? These figures could give an indication of internal leakage.
But maybe the overdrive clutch is just worn. When this happened on my transmission, there was quite some black smudge laying under in the pan.

He also checked all the indexes and they all fell between the specs said everything looked fine even went threw the quick learn of the tranny an it passed all volts and everything were fine said it was the first time that everything looked fine but didnt work right he was stumped so I figured I would just swap the tranny and hope for the best
