Electrical Problem

Hey everyone,

I have a 2004 Jeep WJ with the 4.7 V8. with an electrical problem.

It started one day when i parked and open the door then the radio and climate unit just turned off. A few hours later it came back and then cut out again. It been like two weeks without any life.

So, I made a list of what didn't work:
-Radio (no time present when off)
-Climate system(Not sure if AZC or MTC, it has two knobs with the blower speed and blend doors with an auto setting, and two temperature knobs)
-Front Power outlets
-Rear Wiper
-Security Lights don't turn on when locking but the doors lock.
-Interior Lights

From this list I traced the wiring diagrams to fuses 5, 7, 8, and 9 in the Junction Box on the drivers side. All the fuses are okay but the test light is faint. I then traced the wire to A148 wire being supplied from fuse 15 in the PDC. The test light at the fuse is bright which seems like there is voltage.

Further research about the Wire coming from the PDC to the Junction Box is a 10 Wh/Pk and the wiring diagram says it connected at JB C4, looking at that connection it has two thick wires; I put the test light on the C4 connector and it was also faint like the fuses.

From what I understand this cable is coming from the PDC and is suppose to have ~12V from B+. So, if the test light is faint then this cable should have a problem with it?

The next thing I would like to know is where the cable travel through the firewall into the vehicle since the wiring diagrams don't show it and I would prefer to not tear the whole front out cause it seems like this cable is either corroded or being shorted.

Re: Electrical Problem

Welcome to the garage.
The wiring schematic shows connector C106 as the point where the wire passes the firewall. It should be on the lower left instrument panel side, but there is no drawing which shows the exact position. Attached how the connector looks like. I would first look if there is no corrosion on the pins in this connector.
