Engine fan

Hi fellow jeepers, i have a on going problem with my hydro fan, can anyone tell me if it can be bypassed to accomadate a large electric fan ? cheers guys, pete

I've never seen it done but theoretically if you connect the high pressure inlet hose to the high pressure outlet hose at the bottom of the fan motor it should work. It might throw a code though.

You can also buy the pressure hose from a 99-00 with the mechanical fan, that will run from the pump straight to the steering gear. The only thing I dont know about is what unplugging the fan solenoid will do, might throw a code like cheapjeep said. I have heard of hydraulic fan jeeps being converted back to mechanical, but going to electric shouldn't be too much of a problem.

You could just remove the solenoid from the fan assy and keep it connected (just fix it to some place with tywraps or so) to prevent the check engine light come on all the time.

Well it stays at the same speed, from what i read on here thay say "when the engine is started its doing around 500rpm at idle that as fast as i goes all the time, Regards pete.
