Engine serial number

I have purchased a second hand 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 HO in the UK to bring to Africa. The log book does not have the engine serial number. How can I get the number, or is it possible to see it on the block, if it is possible to see it on the block, where is it situated?

Re: Engine serial number

The engine S/N is on the block in front of cylinder #2. (left bank fwd cylinder when looking from the front of the car)
