Error Code: P1762 (M) Help

DRB Scan Tool Display:

Governor Pressure Sensor Offset Volts Too Low or High

Description of Diagnostic Trouble Code:

Sensor input greater or less than calibration for 3 consecutive Neutral/Park occurrences (4-speed auto. trans. only).

I was on my way down to Mcdonald's for breakfast when I noticed my engine light was on, The Jeep isn't very responsive when you press on the gas pedal. When I pulled into the drive way, I checked the on-board diagnostic and got this code and went on WJ Jeeps and I really have no idea what it means. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Error Code: P1762 (M) Help

There is a pressure sensor in the tranny which gives a feedback to the PCM of the regulated pressure, which is used for the upshifts and downshifts. Looking at the fault code it seems that the sensor itself is faulty.
I have no experience with this tranny myself, so maybe some other member had this problem before and can tell if changing this sensor would be the cure.

Re: Error Code: P1762 (M) Help

I believe you have to drop the pan to get to the sensor. I'm not 100% though. I had this problem with my ZJ, but it was the Govern Pressure Solenoid Valve.

Re: Error Code: P1762 (M) Help

I think that you only have to change the pressure sensor. You have indeed to remove the transmission fluid pan to get access to the sensor. Attached a picture how it looks like.
