fan problems

we have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee LMT, the electric fan has stopped working, we took it to our man to fix, well he cannot trace the problem. seems to think its electrical, how do I figure this one out??

Welcome to the garage.
Best to place your questions in the WJ section, you will get more responces.
First check the 40A fuse in the power distribution center under the hood. (you are talking about the radiator cooling fan and not the AC blower motor, right?)
If your jeep has the electric cooling fan, then it has a relay under the right headlight. This relay often get bad. You will have to remove the bumper to get access to it, or have to cut a hole to get access to it. If this relay is bad, there is a good change that the fan is the problem. The fan can still run, but it can draw too much current and will burn the new relay in no time. Donīt say this is you case, but it happens quite often.
Be aware that on 4.7L engines normally a hydraulic cooling fan is used.

Check the relay, they go out a lot due to normal wear and tear
