Fan relay

Hello All:

I recently changed my fan relay switch which is under my Passenger side front headlight. When I replaced it recently the fan turned on but now its not working.. Its the second relay switch I replaced within 6 months so I am thinking it might not have been the fan relay switch.
Any ideas WJ owners of what it could be??

Re: Fan relay

I figured out what the problem was... The fan relay harness that comes from the truck that attaches to the fan relay unit looks like the far left female connector got fried.
Now I took a thin staple and cut it and stuck it to the harness slot to get a temp new connection which I then plugged bck and now the fan works but its only temp
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement harness and then if you do how the hell do I replace it, cut the wire, snap it out??

Re: Fan relay

you can look up most any Mopar connector here:

http://dto.vftis.com/mopar/platform_...asp?return=new

find your jeep. once you get to the next page, click the little go otr use the dropdown to find this relay. it should show you the replacement coonector if one exists.

Re: Fan relay

Great engineering on Jeep's part to put that relay where it is. Talk about stupid. Had to have mine replaced a few years ago in my 03. I think the WJ's are pretty delicate vehicles. I've had so much stuff done to mine in 4 years, two window regs, the fan relay, two radiators, a rear disc rotor, seat power switch, vacuum leak, crank position sensor. Probably a few more I've forgotten. However my 96 XJ Country just keeps on chugging along.
