Finished TC/Diff Fluid Change... still problems!

Hey guys, with the help of everyone on here, I went ahead and got my Transfer Case and Differential Fluids changed today. I was hoping it would help two issues I've been having:

1. A deep groan/binding when taking sharp turns at very low speeds.
2. A chatter/grinding that occurs at approximately 1400 rpm...

After getting all the fluids changed, I'm still having the same exact problems.... I took about 5 figure 8's through the parking lot to get the oil moving around....

Could it be that it just takes several days for the oil to work its way through everything, and that the problems still might fix?

I didn't use any Friction Modifier/Limited Slip Additive in the differentials. I was told the Mobil 1 75w140 Synthetic I used would be fine, and I wouldn't need these additives... was I wrong? Do I need to go back and add the additive? Is the friction modifer/limited slip additive the same thing, just different names?

ANY HELP would be great.... these are such annoying issues!

Re: Finished TC/Diff Fluid Change... still problems!

If you have Quadra Drive you defenitely need the limited slip additive/friction modifier. When you make a turn, the inner wheel travels less distance then the outher wheel. The Vari-Loc inside the diff will do its job and will lock both wheels together due to the speed difference. Ofcourse this will not work out well and one or both wheels will start slipping and make strange noises. The tighter the turn, the bigger the effect. The limited slip additive will, as the name already states, allow a limited amount of slip inside the Vari-loc, preventing the wheel slip.
After adding the limited slip additive you have to make some tight turns or 8's to get the additive inside the Vari-loc and then it should be ok, will not take days to function.
The chatter at 1400 rpm............ is it really engine rpm related and not vehicle speed? Which fluid did you use for the T-case?

Re: Finished TC/Diff Fluid Change... still problems!

How much do you think I should add to each Axle, since the Mobil 1 already has some in it.... and what does the dealer call this fluid officially so I can go order it?

The chatter noise seems to happen at 1400 rpm in 1st gear... so from a stop it will chatter (then stop) as it passes 1400 rpm, then if i let off the gas and hover around 1400 rpm it will chatter continously... I used the correct Mopar NV247 Transfer Case fluid from the dealer..

Re: Finished TC/Diff Fluid Change... still problems!

The manual states 2.5 oz of frition modifier. So you say that there is already friction modifier in this mobil 1 fluid? Then you need to know how much to see if its enough.
And regarding the noise, thats quite difficult to tell when you are not really hearing it and even then its still difficult. When you put the T-case in Lo, does it still make the same noise at 1400 rpm?
