Front Driveshaft

Like last time, i came here for answers. I have the same 99 WJ4.7/NV247. It has the front driveshaft with the crappy CV joints on both ends. Recently, the TC end CV joint developed some play in it and it sounds like the riverdance under my jeep while going down the highway. I dont want to replace it with another CV shaft. I found a junk yard with a U-joint style shaft and yokes. my question is how hard would it be to fit my TC and front diff with u-joint yokes? will i need to break into the TC or the diff and would i need any special tools? it doesnt see alot of offroading.

Re: Front Driveshaft

The TC yoke would be easy enough but the front diff I think I'd leave to a pro because you're gonna need a new seal, crush sleeve and someone that knows what they are doing to get the preload right. You get it wrong and its front end time

Re: Front Driveshaft

i ended up replacing the CV joint on the front shaft. it was actually simple and straight forward. a hammer, screwdriver and a good set of snap-ring pliers it all it took.
