Fuel filter disconnect broke

Trying to change fuel filter I am having problems with one hose fitting the one with the metal on it and you have to push the black retainer in well I couldn't get it and I broke of part of the black retainer can I still change my fuel filter with some of it busted will it release the spring still uploadfromtaptalk1399562821725.jpg

Idk. For the fuel lines you need a disconnect tool. See if dealer sells the plastic insert
