Fuel level indication too high

My fuel level indication was indicating approximately 1/4 too high. Just changed the complete fuel pump module with fuel level sending unit, but was still indicating too high.
With full fuel tank, the variable resistor is at its lowest resistance. So increasing the resistance would bring the indication down. Just received today a 200 ohms variable resistor and put it in line with the float resistor wire. Now i have to complete the tank, to be able to regulate the indication exactly to full. Just cut the wire on the drivers side under the door jamb plastic protector and soldered the variable resistor in series.
An other option could be by bending the float arm, but you will have to lower the fuel tank for that, and most probably will not get the fuel indicator to go to empty completely.
Just a $ 4 job and half an hour of your time (it took me quite a bit longer, because i had to find the wire first).
