Garage Door Programing without Transmitter

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has the option to program the garage door opener in the upper console area. The instructions in the manual give information about how to program the garage door opener without a handheld transmitter. Any idea if this can be done?

Re: Garage Door Programing without Transmitter

I remember programming mine using the button on the old transmitter. I think the way to do it without is by pressing the "learn" button on your garage door opener. It's just a bit of a challenge to get up on the ladder, push the button, then run to the Jeep to push the transmit button. I remember doing that at my dad's so my Jeep would learn his door and it was a PITA, but it finally took.
