getting hoter need help please

Hello my 02 wj 4.7 is getting warm and I don't know why. When its running down the road its right under 210. Once you stop and let it idle for a while it will start to climb sometimes just over 210 sometimes up around 230. It has the hydraulic fan. Sometimes if you have it running and open the hood you can hear a noise like a bearing in an alternator going bad.i don't know where to start looking and I know these motos don't like getting warm. I think the fan is working ok because when it was running in the drive way the fan kicked on high. that's how I knew smething was wrong I never heard it tha load before. thank you

Re: getting hoter need help please

Could be a problem with the thermostat. If it doesn't open up completely, it will first show up when standing still and no airflow is present. I would change that one first and flush the cooling system and esspecially the radiator.

They are prissy little engines. Over heat and bam engine work. I have same dilemma as you. Except i have a new radiator, t-stat,water pump and water wetter additive to help cool.
