Grand Cherokee 2003 right hand drive

Hello to all,

I am based in the UK and purchased Grand cherokee 2003 2.7 CRD automatic overland.
Cant get the car to drive straight! Changed back trailing arms and bushes and now wanting to change front as well.
Can any one advise or direct me on how to solve this issue?
Many thanks
Ayo

Re: Grand Cherokee 2003 right hand drive

Is there any play on the suspension parts? End links, ball ends, the track bar bushings and /or the steering gearbox. Does it never drive straight, independent on which type of road?
Front end alignment is ok?

Re: Grand Cherokee 2003 right hand drive

Thank you for reply.
I have replaced most of the rear suspension and now in process of replacing front suspension parts . The issue is on the road as I don't do any off road. You can almost loss control over a bump on the motorway at 60 miles per hour. Is their a simple adjustment for the steering box?
The symptom starts with the car deviating from a straight line and then when you try to correct it feels like you over compensate and need to counter correct and this repeats itself. I am from the marine field and we call it as if the autopilot is Humming....

Re: Grand Cherokee 2003 right hand drive

Is there any play on the steering gearbox? There is a possibility to adjust, see attached pages. You can do the adjustment in the jeep (eventhough its not recommanded). If you tighten it too much, the steering wheel will not return to center on its own.
