I decided to fix it 100% stock so I went the hard way. If you want to do it yourself and save a ton of time and money check out heater treater. Its a fix done through your glove box. This is the link http://www.heatertreater.net/Grand%2...d%2098-04.html if you need any pictures for reference or have any questions feel free to PM me. Best of luck.

Looks like great info.

Re: Heater Blowing Cold Air Only

i know everyone already said it, but its your blend doors without a doubt, i just did the job at my friends shop and its about 5 hours total, when i was in there i replaced the mid case assebly (blend doors) and while i had the dash out i did the heater core and the re-circ door i also replaced all the blend motors, at shop price i spent a total of 298 dollars, PS. napa carrys the cheapest heater core and pep boys for the mid case, trust me i shopped around, hardest part of the entire job is getting the heater core lines off from under the hood, good luck

Re: Heater Blowing Cold Air Only

Or you could just go to walmart, buy a power inverter and a plug in portable electric heater. I bought an electric blanket with an auto socket plug before too. True story, two years back I brought a girl on a first date and told her to put the electric blanket over her in the car while I plugged it into the cigg outlet. Actually worked good cuz she kept calling me after.

Re: Heater Blowing Cold Air Only

I don't get it what is up with these blend doors, this seems to be a universal problem among WJ's. Why the hell hasn't Jeep issued a TSB? They need to issue one asap.

Re: Heater Blowing Cold Air Only

They have...its a notorious fail on WJ's....they are supposedly releasing another soon with modified parts. All I know is I don't have the money to spend to get it fixed....and even if I did...I don't know if I would.

Re: Heater Blowing Cold Air Only

TSB's wont be covered for free repair anyways. Face it, its an 04 or earlier vehicle so 6+ years things are bound to fail and need replacing.

Re: Heater Blowing Cold Air Only

I'd go to a junk yard and rip whatever you need out. Try and shove the parts down your pants and walk out, if its too big try and throw it over the fence and pick it up later at night. Not that I have ever done that before, that would be wrong. lol

Re: Heater Blowing Cold Air Only

Sure you haven't Timmy...LOL!

I know they are bound to fail. Complicated electronics = more stuff to break. Its just stupid tho, and its not an easy fix.
