Heater control module in 02 WJ

Been reading a lot, haven't found any info on this. I need to replace my heater control head module (the computer box in the dash with the knobs and buttons). I have a dual-zone system. I have been looking at ebay for a replacement, they appear to be the same as a junkyard part (some sellers *are* junkyards). I noticed that the stickers on the back have a rev letter and a change level letter too. I can match the part number, but the rev and change level are usually higher than mine, one or the other, or both. Some even have dates from 2009 or later, that claim to be pulled from an 02? To make it harder, when I go looking for a part at one of the dealership sites (waaaay to expensive), they list like 15 part numbers for this thing for my year, and no rev or change level listed.

Can anyone clarify this for me, what am I looking for in a head unit? Can I safely use a later rev or change level? Is there any chart to check, or rule of thumb to follow?

Re: Heater control module in 02 WJ

Welcome to the garage.
As far as i know the 99-02 AC head units can be interchanged between each other, but the 03-04 units not.
