Question Help! Remobval of Cig Lighter

OK, I am a couch potato, learning how to get my hands dirty. I admit it.

I am trying to remove the cigarette lighter assembly from the dash. I have the panel off and disconnected. I can see that it turns, but I cannot get the darn thing OFF. All I am trying to do is replace the cover, as the original one was broken off. I have the cover, I just need to get the lighter assembly out. The dealers around here are happy to help - for $75 per hour, 1 hr minimum.

Anyone have the skinny on this? Thanks!

Yes The Pins are small but with small screw driver or pointed object they are easy to deal with. Just push the pin in and pull the plug out simultaneously.

Re: Help! Remobval of Cig Lighter

Thanks, everyone. I went by one more dealership that I had not talked to, and they were by far the most customer oriented company I have run into. 1/4 turn and push from back of panel! All done!

Many thanks to those of you who wrote!!

Not sure about this panel, but on WWW.WJJEEPS.COM they have great writeups on removal of panels etc.
