High Beams and Low Beams Switched.

So my Jeep was in a shop for two months getting a rebuilt engine. The damn guys rewired my HID lights to the full beams. Ok so they told me I did not take it in with HID's which I did (they broke them I think) so They gave me a 60$ check as replacement. The harness and bricks were still in place but wired to regular high beams. I got new 6k low beams HIDs and wired them as before but they are now full beams, so needless to say I blew out one of them. I have tried looking through the wiring and I dont see any difference as to how I had it wired before I tool it to the shop. Is there anything they may have replaced on the engine, fuses, sensors etc.. anything that could cause high beams on the low beam "sockets".

In simpler terms my previous low beam wires are now High beams and the previous high beam wires do not work. My halos and LEDs work ok.

Re: High Beams and Low Beams Switched.

I'd trace the wiring to see if there's any nicks or cuts in it. They may have damaged something. Have you tried wiring the lows back to highs etc?

The original lows are now highs. I dont know how i would switch up the two wirings. I had spliced into lows for my LEDs and Halos so they all on at the same time, but now the low wires are "High Beams" if I turn the light nob all the way, the halos and LEDs are on as well. When I turn the light nob one turn, the halos and LEDs are on as running lights.
I was reading something about relay's?????

Re: High Beams and Low Beams Switched.

There is no reason to blow any component due to swapping the high and low beam wiring. It would only switch the high beams on when low switched. When something got blown, then there is probably a short in a wiring.
It can be that the connectors which where previously connected directly to the normal light bulbs and now go to the HID power supply, are cross connected.
There is a low beam and a high beam relay on the junction block under the steering wheel, but the problem should not be there.
