High Pressure Hose for Hyd. Fan

2004 Grand cherokee Overland 4.7 HO appears to have a slow leak at the power steering pump high pressure hose that connects to the hyd. fan motor. The hose runs from the top of the pump resivor across the fan shroud, down the side of the radiator and connects to the fan motor. The connection at the resivor may have a O ring that now allows the steel tube to move up and down inside the connecting fitting. I have read where it is best to just replace the hose assembly and forget trying to replace the O ring. I have also read that Jeep has "improved" the hose assembly because many owners have had ths same leak. Does anyone know the part number for this "improved" part. I found this number at JustForJeeps.com #5019708AE. I have also seen other part numbers and even a seperate O ring needed. That would be hose number 52088452AF with the O ring #5205254.

I have a qt of the approved MoPar MS 5931 power stering fluid. I think that was the number I have. It was rather expensive, but I think it's good to use the right stuff. I may need more than a qt unless to catch and reuse the old during hose instalation. We are at 151,000 miles with me the second owner. So I have no idea what the first owner has even done in the past. Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: High Pressure Hose for Hyd. Fan

Just last night, I found an old thread back from 2010 regarding this issue. Sorry clogged up the thread list with this same issue again. Had I looked back far enough at first, I would have found the information I was looking for which suggests the correct part number and best way to go about replacing the hose.

If the administrator has a way of deleating this thread, it's OK with me. The issue has been discussed before in great detail and there is no need to duplicate what is already here.

Thanks
