How do you get rid of that smell?

Hey all,

I may be keeping the WJ for another winter, just seems to be running real well lately and I know it has lots more life in her. Because of this, I'm going to replace the blend doors using the heater treater fix through the glove http://www.jgcparts.com/JeepHeater.h...FUTrKgodjnFPPA going to use the single rather than dual zone since I never used dual zone feature anyway and save a few bux in the process.

My question is related to a musty, stale smell that is present when you turn the HVAC fan on. Last fall I tired to remove the wipers and cowl to see if there was an optional HVAC filter installed that I could replace but I couldn't get the wiper arms off the Jeep to inspect it after removing the bolts so I didn't bother. Has anyone had this sort of issue with odour from the HVAC in a WJ before? How did you get rid of it?

Thanks!

Re: How do you get rid of that smell?

There is a fix for this. The odor is because stuff is growing in your A/C evap core. Chrysler sells a can of stuff to spray in that kills it off.

I can not remember where I read this, but I'll do some searching real quick.

*EDIT* Found it:
