How to Kill a Cassette Player!!!

Have an '03 Overland Grand Cherokee (My 8th Jeep!). Has a 10 CD changer with cassette player as well. Never used the cassette player until y'day. Friend put in a cassette, it ejected and kept running. Tried reinserting tape, poking it with a pencil and restarting the car. Keeps running! Finally just yanked the fuse to shut off the clicking noise and prevent a dead battery. Jeep without tunes is just wrong!! Best Buy rep told me dried gears probably broke and it is trying to eject, just buy a new system. Would rather just stop the cassette from running and never try to use it again. Anyone out there have a suggestion????

Re: How to Kill a Cassette Player!!!

lol if you're interested in a stock replacement, PM me..

it's out of my late 2002 Laredo with Infinity, 10-disc and tape player. I used the cassette player with an aux adapter all the time until I replaced it with an RB1 nav like 3 weeks ago.
