Ignition Key Problem?

I can remove the ignition key from my WJ with it in 'off', 'lock' and 'acc'. Is it right that it can be removed in all three positions? Accidentally switching it all the way back to 'acc' and taking the key out has left me with a flat battery on several occasions

Re: Ignition Key Problem?

When i'm not wrong, you should only be able to remove the key in the Lock position.

Re: Ignition Key Problem?

Just found the owners manual and it says the same. Guess the lock on mine must be worn then. Time for a new lock barrel I guess.

Re: Ignition Key Problem?

I just wonder if this would be a simple key cylinder change, or if there is something else wrong.
