intake manifold cleaning

any one clean a intake manifold on a 4.7. mine has a lot of blowby oil oozing out of it.....its currently not installed

Re: intake manifold cleaning

If it's not installed get a tote and fill it with hot water and Dawn liquid dish soap and let it sit in there for a bit. Then clean out all you can, rinse,repeat until clean.

sweet. ill do that. I was wondering if I could use parts cleaner or anything else.. but dawn. and degreaser will work just fine

Brake cleaner works great too, but it can damage plastic pieces.

I would think a pressure washer with soap pre-mixed would help. I don't think degreaser will cut it unless it was something kind of caustic, and in that case I would expect possible damage to the nylon based material.

soaked in simple green for 48 hr and looked Like tar when it all came out.....
