Re: Intermittent Blower Failure

Frango100,

I will have to get under the foot-well later and see what I see under there.

As far as the vacuum issue, I've gone ahead and removed the passenger side headlight to expose a commonly cracked vacuum line, but it seems OK.

I also traced a top-side HVAC vacuum hose to the manifold and again see nothing worn or cracked. I took a couple of pictures as the small vacuum line plugs into a larger hose which has some kind of diaphragm between it and the manifold. Could this disc be the culprit as far as the vacuum issue?

Please tell me you are not using Compression fittings on your brake lines....

Re: Intermittent Blower Failure

One way to see if you have a vacuum leak is to place your A/C in "vent" mode and run the engine. Be sure air is coming out of the front vents. Then turn the engine off and listen for the doors to change position. If they change to the "defrost" setting with the engine off, then you have a vacuum leak. If you wait about 5 minutes with the engine off, you should be able to move the A/C knob to defrost from the vent position and hear the doors move. If they don't your vacuum has leaked and the valve you show in the picture MAY be the culprit. It could also be any of the vacuum lines under the dash, a leaking control knob or a leaking vacuum door motor.
