Intermittent Seat controls issue!

I have noticed lately that my jeep power seat has been acting up and i have to wiggle/manipulate it to make it move backwards however forward isn't a problem. Has anyone had this problem? I am thinking maybe the brushes went out in the motor.

Thanks.

Re: Intermittent Seat controls issue!

I would expect a problem with the switch. If it moves normally to fwd, the brushes in the motor should be fine. It only reverses the current in the motor.
Try to use some contact cleaner in the switch first.

The switch on the motor or attached to the seat?

Re: Intermittent Seat controls issue!

Is there a switch on the motor? I think there is only a cirquit breaker on it which opens when the motor heats up too much. So try cleaning the seat switch first.
