Re: intermittent wiper fault

Yup, I got the same problem. Mine will work on constant and fast constant but on any other intermmitent setting they will go up and come down on like half the windshiled... So so annoying. i think the only thing to do is to change the motor...

Re: intermittent wiper fault

I turn on delay, get one wipe, and then it goes into Low wipe mode.

I have the exact same issue...have you ever figured out what the issue was? Was it the motor, lever, fuse or BCM?

Re: intermittent wiper fault

Its probably the park sense switch inside the wiper motor.

Has this ever been resolved? My intermittent wipers do not work either.

Re: intermittent wiper fault

Unfortunately many people donīt inform if they found the solution or not. It would help a lot other people.
Will the wipers go to low speed when you select intermittent, or donīt they work at all in that case?
Does your jeep have the automatic wiper function?

Re: intermittent wiper fault

Thanks for the help.

The intermittent wiper switch on the right stalk has gradations for varying the speed. If I turn on the intermittents the wiper blades make one wipe and stop - never to swipe again no matter which speed I select. The only wiper options are normal and fast speed continuous wiping. I believe the car does have automatic wipers but they don't work as described above.

Re: intermittent wiper fault

The switch stalk has several resistors which shows the BCM in which position its in. Maybe a good idea to start measuring here for continuity.
The wiper motor itself has an internal switch, but i have to find out how to test this switch.
Edit: just had a look at the service manual and the problem can also be with the rain sensing module, which is mounted above the mirror on the windshield. The fact that the wiper does one wipe shows that the BCM gets the arm signal from the switch stalk. Now it will be waiting for a signal from the rain sensing module to activate the wipers. The rain sensing module uses fuse 25 on the junction block, but also depends on the accessory delay relay. This fuse and relay also feed the runroof, so if that one is working, both fuse and relay are ok. The only reliable way to test the rain sensing module is by using a DRBIII scanner.
If the BCM doesnīt get ANY signal from the rain sensing module, it will switch the wipers into low speed. If it does get a signal, it waits for a wipe command from the rain sensing module.
Since your wipers donīt go into low speed continuous mode, it seems that the rain sensing module is working, but not sending a wipe command. Check if the infrared sensors from the rain sensing module are clean and no obstacles are in their way (like a sticker or such).

Re: intermittent wiper fault

They work! My intermittent wipers work. The problem is the black cover from the sensor on the windshield above and behind the rearview mirror has fallen off (not completely). If I hold the cover inplace the wipers work fine.

Any advice on how to put the cover back on correctly?

Thanks.

Re: intermittent wiper fault

I have never worked on this sensor, but seeing the manual there should be two clips holding it in place. It seems that there is a plastic bracket molded to the windshield, where the two clips attach to.

Re: intermittent wiper fault

Thanks for that. It looked like the clip had broken so I used super glue tp attach the back to the sensor on the windscreen. It should work. I'll let you know.
