Just checked tranny fluid - uh oh.

I've had my '04 for about 5 months now. 92,000 miles on it.
I just checked the tranny fluid for the second time (I checked it when I picked it up to make sure the level was correct) and the fluid is waaay up on the stick and the stick has bubbles on it.
I had planned to change the filters and fluid soon (the fluid looks pretty clean) so for sure I'm doing it ASAP.
So, what's going on? Is my tranny screwed?

Did you check the level when tranny was warm and in neutral?

Warm, yes. In park. Supposed to check it in neutral?

Re: Just checked tranny fluid - uh oh.

Just did as you both suggested and all is good -no bubbles and the level is right on the money.
It even says so right there on the dip stick - check in neutral.
I never did like reading instructions.
Thanks guys for setting me straight.
