Knocking while coasting.

I have a 1999 wj.

Just started noticing this last night.

When I am driving and take my foot off the gas to coast there is a knocking. Almost rotational noise, thought I was a flat at first, and when I push on the accelerator the noise goes away. Jeep doesn't seem to be running any different then usual, just this strange sound.

Starting to get frustrated with my jeep, I have put close to $3000 into it this summer and am still having problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

I6 4.0

Doesn't sound like it's coming from the engine though, could be wrong since all of my recent issues have been engine related.

Re: Knocking while coasting.

First have a look under the jeep for any signs of grease leaking from CV joints and if you can feel any abnormal play on them. Do you hear any noise when making turns? Could be something with a wheel bearing as well.

I will take a look after work. Nothing on turns and just had a bunch of suspension done, hoping they would have noticed that.

Took it in. Left rear wheel lug nuts were loose.... That is the last thing I would have checked.

I would raise hell at Chrysler. Call in or write to customer relations they will make it all better
