Re: leak

Is it leaking coolant or oil?

I see from the pic it looks like oil. How much is it leaking? Is there a puddle or is it just wet all the time where your pic shows?

Re: leak

it looks like coolant and smells like it to! But I was wondering why it looks like oil when I looked underneath.

Re: leak

If it smells like cooling liquid, it does because it probably is. Maybe it took some dirt of the engine while running down and changed color. Have a look at the water pump, there is a small hole in the housing close to the pulley where liquid can come out when the pump sealing becomes bad. As far as i know the only option would be to change the pump in that case.
If its oil after all, you just have to follow the oil stains up to find where it comes out. Ofcourse when you drive, the airflow can take the liquid to strange places.
But looking at the position, it could be the crankshaft seal. When you really canīt find the leak, try to clean it all up first.

Re: leak

If you might be unsure, get some jungle jake or some engine cleaner and hose that front down real good. Then wait for the leak to start and see what it is. If it is coolant, it is likely your water pump. The water pump itself is easy to change out but getting your fan off of the pulley that is attached to the water pump will not be easy if you don't have the tool needed or the tools to make a tool that will work. The other pain is getting that shroud off of the radiator. It really is bad times messing with that shroud and fan. I just did it twice in two weeks.
