Hi My 2000 grand cherokee started acting a little funny today.
the warning for low washer fluid came on for a split second. after a few times we stopped and toped off the fluid. it wasnt low only about an inch below the cap. after a few miles the warning "chimed" again and the warning came on for a split second. this went on for the last 200 miles of our trip.
Can be a defective float switch or shaved through wire. I also heard sometimes about solder problems on the EVIC circuit board.
But i would start checking the wiring for shaving.
I would disconnect the wires to the float and see if the message still appears. When yes, it could be one of the solder points in the EVIC. If you are handy with a soldering gun, you could probably solder it yourself. But it still could be one of the wires going from the float to the EVIC. It doesn't have to be in the engine bay itself.
i think its the evic it went from the low washer fluid to low coolant. the low washer fluid warning has disappeared since the low coolant warning has come
I red over the coolant word, was thinking it was still the same problem. Don't know the price for a new (or used) EVIC, but have a look at the solders first if they are not loose, could safe you some money.
i can solder pretty well so im going to pull the EVIC out over the weekend and see if i can find anything wrong. If i cant find any loose connections im going to look for a used EVIC
I came across this thread as I was researching the exact problem that you described. Was the issue your EVIC? Were you able to solder it, or did you have to find a new one? Thanks.
