Mirror settings

Is the memory setting for the mirror saved in the unit under the drivers seat? Same unit that controls the heated seats?

Mirrors don't save the settings and I am constantly adjusting and resaving.

Thanks

Yes, the seat and power mirror memory are both saved in the Memory Heated Seat Module underneath the seat. But by saying that you have to constantly adjust the mirrors, you mean that you have to do this every time you switch the ignition in on? You could disable the memory function in the EVIC, then you only have to set the mirrors once in the desired position.
You would need an DRBIII scan tool to find any faults in the memory module. It also could be that the problem is in the memory switch(es) and that it keeps a previously set position. Does the seat memory function normally? Both mirrors are involved, or only drivers side?

I have to adjust both mirrors every other day. The seat does seem to stay in the same position.

I need to pickup a replacement module anyway. The heated seats do not work and the dealer said that is the issue. It looks like it could be a pain to replace. It appears that one of the motors has to be removed to gain access to the module.

When you put the seat in a different position and put that one in memory, will it stay in memory? The Memory Module uses the 2 door switches and the Driver Door Module and Passenger Door Module. Could even be a wire problem behind the driver door panel.
But as a temporary solution, you could disable the memory function in the EVIC. Seat and mirrors should then not move out of position anymore.
Did you try to safe the desired positions in both memories? I'm asking this, because you should have 2 key fobs and either one is using one memory position. When you only saved the positions in memory 1 for example, and you use the key fob which is using memory 2, all will go to the memory 2 position.

Yes, a DRBIII scan tool is necessary, see the text from the service manual below:

NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with the optional
Memory System, following installation, it will be
necessary to initialize the Memory Heated Seat
Module (MHSM). In order to function properly, the
MHSM must “learn” the sensor values of each of
the power seat motor position transducers in each
of the adjuster hard stop positions. This is done by
performing the “Reset Guard Band” procedure
using a DRBIII
T scan tool and the proper Diagnostic
Procedures manual.
WARNING: THE “RESET GUARD BAND” PROCEDURE
WILL CAUSE THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT
SEAT TO AUTOMATICALLY ADJUST TO EACH OF
ITS TRAVEL LIMITS. BE CERTAIN THAT NO ONE IS
SEATED IN THE VEHICLE AND THAT THERE IS
NOTHING IN THE VEHICLE THAT WILL OBSTRUCT
SEAT MOVEMENT. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THIS
WARNING COULD RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURIES

AND/OR VEHICLE DAMAGE.
