Re: Multiple engine codes

Removed PCM this morning cleaned up the connections and the ground, only one. reassembled no change. Guess I'll have to deside whether to take it to a dealer ($105/hr. plus tax) or pickup PCM from US and install my self. Frank, I really appreciate your help. Thanks, Glen

P.S. What type of bike do you have? I have 04 Suziki C50 and 73 Norton-under repair

Re: Multiple engine codes

By the way, if there is a ground strap on the PCM chassis, that is not the one used for switching to ground. You have to measure on connector C1 point 31 and 32 for 0 Ohms to ground. By the way, if you would get a PCM from any place, it has to be loaded with your vehicles VIN and if you have Sentry key system, that one has to be loaded as well. (or you could ask the dealer to program the PCM to use without the sentry key system, so that you could use a normal key instead)

Re: Multiple engine codes

Still poking around at the power distribution box. Checked out the 85 terminal with test light attacked to positive side - did not light as I expected (+ to - should Light). I also probed the other terminals, pin 86 it was lite (+ to + should not light). looks like problem with PDC box or f991 circuit.

Re: Multiple engine codes

When you measured with ignition off, then there is no power on 86. Also point 85 should not have ground, since that is switched by the PCM and with ignition off there should be no ground = ASD relay deenergized.

Re: Multiple engine codes

Brought the GC into the dealer this morning and they came to same conclusion a new PCM. I got lucky on this one apparently it's still covered under warranty so I should have it back tomorrow. Thanks again Frank
