Ive had my 03 GC for three years (Ltd 4.7L V8) and it is satan. I have a very LONG list of problems some fixed some not. The one causing me the most grief atm is this cranking forever before starting. This happens 98% of the time. There are some very rare and totally random occasions when it will miraculously just start first turn (hot, cold makes no difference)
BUT and heres the twist.. every time I put fuel in it at the gas station, it starts first turn. EVERY time.
I have replaced (in no particular order and off the top of my head):
fuel pump, o ring, fuel filter/reg, all new air lines, map sensor, cleaned and tested tps and throttle body, new spark plugs, exhaust manifold, had compression tests on each cylinder-fine, new battery, coils, and oxy sensors.
Now, I did have a mean stuttering problem (so bad you didnt dare stomp on it if you wanted to overtake-you just never overtake) but since doing the fuel pump, o ring and filter/reg, it snots.....but one day later i now have this slow rough "about to stall" idle (when it finally starts) with the red check guages dash light.. if i give it a rev it smooths out but is still rough and when braking into say a stop sign it chugs like its going to stall.
Fix one problem ..create another...?? I have now replaced plugs hoping that was it but arghghhhh....no, still cranks and cranks before it starts.
Thanks in advance
