Unhappy My WJ sounds like a boeing 737

What's up guys? I've recently bought an 04' 4.7L, 55k miles, black on black with chrome wheels. Beautiful! I previously owned an 00' 4.0 WJ which I got 217,000 miles out of. She was great! Recently I've noticed an increasingly annoying moan from the front end. The noise starts around 60mph and by 70 it in full harmonic rhythm. 80+ just sux. I'm thinking maybe the bearings or something with the front differential, or AWD. Any ideas?

Re: My WJ sounds like a boeing 737

I think you have it narrowed it down to what it can be ... I say check in the following order

1) Wheel bearings
2) Front diff
3) Tires (or it's just that your tires suck and at that speed they make that noise)

Cool, Thanks for the advice. Dont think it's the tires, Mich cross terrains. In decent shape although I will need to replace them within the next 6 months to a year.

Does the '04 have the hydraulic fan and power steering pump combo? Similar noise to that in my daughter's '02 when the entire system needed replaced.

Re: My WJ sounds like a boeing 737

Look at your cv axles as well mine did the same thing because of a bad cv joint.
