Re: Mystery flat tire

well its good you found it because the roads in nyc are not getting any better with the ice making potholes better.

a simple way to check for a leak is get a spry bottle with soap or Windex and spray the tier looking for bubble to happen after filling up teh tier with air.

Re: Mystery flat tire

Rear tire? looks like road hazard. that would deflate instantly. front tire stands object up rear hits it =flat

Re: Mystery flat tire

Gotta say I'm suprised you didn't notice that damage from what is obviously from either a foreign object road stike or an extreme pinch from a curb encounter.!

After you put 'stop leak" in it, the tire was stuffed anyway. It's a last resort option.

Re: Mystery flat tire

I put the spare on at night didn't try too hard to find that mark. I'm more mad that its a brand new tire practically... :/

Re: Mystery flat tire

That does not look like a "practically brand new tire"! Not with all those cracks on it.

Re: Mystery flat tire

Probably not the tire but the rim...had a 2004 GC Limited that occasionally I had to take to have them "power wire brush" the inside of the wheel. I had the aluminum chrome clad wheels. Tire guys says that they corrode on the inside which causes them to leak....took care of the problem everytime they did it. It would start with a slow leak and eventually get worse to the point of it going down to about 15-17 pounds within a week after filling them.

Re: Mystery flat tire

Well remember for a whole year the air leaked all teh way to 12 psi sometimes i would forget about it unless i looked at it... explains all those cracks... plus we just had a blizzard here and it tore all my tires up :/
