Angry Need help figuring out this very irritating electrical problem

I have a 2000 GC, the last few months a problem has been occuring and I can't figure it out.

Whenever the passenger side door is open(ed), I am unable to unlock or roll down any other doors/windows except for the drivers side. That includes the rear hatch. As soon as I close the door, the functions return immediately.

This is a very big inconvenience for my wife and I as we have two small children and are constantly having to make sure the passenger side door is not opened prior to unlocking the vehicle.

If anyone can help with this problem, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Re: Need help figuring out this very irritating electrical problem

I would check the electrical connections in the door hinge area and also the wires.

Either they are loose, pinched or corroded.

This may help, but my understanding is that 2004's have door jam electrical wiring issues more than any other WJ.

Re: Need help figuring out this very irritating electrical problem

I had the same, most probably the thick gauge black wire in the door boot is internally broken and most probably just held together with the isolation. Just open the boot and try to bend the wire, to see if you can find the breaking point. On mine the wire was completely detached and easy to find, but because yours still works, it seems that its not completely detached yet.
