Need help with getting Climate Control Unit Out!

Hi guys!

I'm a fellow Jeep lover, but I am a girl..not a typical one, as I try to do as much mechanic work as I can.

I just got a 2002 WJ and i wanted to change out the Unit because of a stuck button and burned out lights..(anal I know)

Well I got the silver trim off, and took out the two screws up on top, but the dang thing doesn't come out. Where are the other screws I am missing? I found a cheap one online for 35 bucks and would like to just replace it.

Thanks in advance!

Jamie

There are four screws, two on top, two on the bottom. Have you removed the lower bezel/ashtray? If not, see: http://www.wjjeeps.com/interiortrim.htm#LOWCENTER

Re: Need help with getting Climate Control Unit Out!

The ash tray bezel comes out just like the bezel around the radio. Use something flat and pop it out. Then there's 2 more screws that hold on the climate control unit. Get those out, pull it out a little, and disconnect the connector behind it.

Did you find the whole unit online for $35 or just the bulbs? If you found the unit, can I ask where? Mine has been acting up for 6 months and I don't want to spend $160 to get one from the dealer.
